Semi-Skilled Boilermaker – Copalcor (Wadeville / Germiston)

Reference Number: CE102026 Reports to: Superintendent Grade: MEIBC Grade D Closing Date: 09 October 2026 About the Role Copalcor is looking for a Semi-Skilled Boilermaker to join their workshop team. The role involves construction, fabrication, and repairs of steel structures, components, and machinery in a busy industrial environment. Main Responsibilities Carry out fabrication, modification, and repair of steelwork as instructed Read and interpret technical and engineering drawings accurately Maintain tools and toolboxes in good working condition Report major breakdowns or delays that could affect production Minimise machine downtime through efficient and correct repairs Promote and maintain a safe working environment at all times Ensure correct materials are available and report shortages Operate a forklift or overhead crane when licensed and required Load and unload materials for the workshop Verify delivery notes for quantity, quality, and size accuracy Assist the Maintenance and Production teams with steelwork tasks Strictly follow lockout procedures when working on machinery Minimum Requirements Grade 12 or N3 (or equivalent) with at least one subject relevant to the trade Basic boilermaking certificate Ability to interpret technical drawings and fabricate or assemble from them Working knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals Key Skills Structural fabrication and sheet metal work Welding (Arc, MIG/TIG) Plate development, pipe fitting and development Gas and plasma cutting Safe use of workshop machines (drills, power saws, guillotines, grinders, etc.) Welding of special steels and non-ferrous metals (including stainless steel and cast iron) How to Apply Email an updated CV together with certified copies of your ID and qualifications (not older than 3 months) to the HR Department.
