Stores Supervisor

PURPOSE OF THE JOB To effectively manage the cutting centre, despatch operations, and warehouse staff at our CTG Branch. This role is central to ensuring efficient stock control, cost management, and maintaining a safe, well-organized working environment while liaising closely with the sales department. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Manage and control the daily operations of the warehouse. Supervise, lead, and coordinate all warehouse staff. Implement and maintain accurate stock control systems. Manage the movement of stock between different warehouse locations. Monitor and control warehouse-related costs to ensure budgetary compliance. Ensure all forklifts are regularly serviced, well-maintained, and in a safe working condition. Ensure all cutting equipment is properly maintained and safe for operation. Oversee department personnel, including identifying training needs, arranging staff development, and initiating disciplinary proceedings when necessary. Communicate effectively with the sales department to align despatch and stock availability with customer requirements. REQUIREMENTS Educational Requirements: Grade 12 / Matric certificate. Experience: A minimum of 5 years of proven supervision experience, preferably within a warehouse, stores, or logistics environment. Key Competencies: Strong leadership and people management skills. Excellent organizational and stock control abilities. Proficient in cost management and operational efficiency. Knowledge of health and safety standards for warehouse equipment. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
